Laughable Malaysia

So in Malaysia, it begins again. No, not another sodomy trail against Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, but once again the Malaysian government is making their country the joke of the world.

A decade after he was arrested, beaten and jailed on sodomy charges, Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim is once again in a Kuala Lumpur courtroom to face another sodomy charges. And just like the first time, not a single Malaysian in the country believes the charges.

This time, a former aide of Anwar, 23-year-old Saiful Bukhari Azlan, said that Anwar forced him to commit the acts. Like the first trial, the evidence in the case is laughable. The first doctor who checked Saiful said that he did not find any evidence of sodomy. The Malaysian Attorney General now say that it was nothing but an ‘initial’ examination and a ‘more through’ examination of Saiful (by another doctor) revealed evidence of sodomy. Said new evidence has not been turned over to the defense yet.

Also there is the question of how in the world could Anwar (a 60+ man in poor health) managed to ‘force’ Saiful (a young 23-year-old) is something only the Malaysian Attorney General and the Malaysian Police can answer. They can also answer why Anwar is charge with sodomy but not Saiful.

So for the second time, Anwar Ibrahim is charged with sodomy. With the political forces against him, he will probably be convicted of the charges and when that happen; the snickers against Malaysia will turn into outright laughter…again.

Not 'poor health' but a 'bad back'!! He even needs support to climb up a flight of stairs! Believe me, there are still those who would believe this utter bullshit..

What! There are people who believe this? Who? I got a pile of golden shit I want to sell them also

Yes. Rural folks are literally still caught up in the mids of 1969. They would believe alot of things the Government propagates them through Umno Media that plays the Race cards and unphantomable spews of lies and half truths they write about just to make their own kind(kampung malays) fear. You see, this is how the their Govt wants them to live, in fear!!

Uh...actually from what I read, rural Malays are especially disgusted with UMNO for what they're doing to Anwar. 10 years ago, after the first trial, they were the ones who truly turned the tide against UMNO. If UMNO think this will get them back into the fold, they are sorely mistaken.

What have you been reading, can you give me the source that supports your claim that the majority of rural malays are against UMNO? Infact, rural folks in malaysia have poor education and are poorly informed leaving them to be easily manipulated and toyed with.

Money politics are obvious during election period. The Govt pays them in cash "incentives" for every vote cast to UMNO/BN. How is this not dirty? This 'standard conduct' happens in the open mostly in rural areas. What is RM50-RM300/Vote for the Govt to remain in power?

I have side tracked from the main topic but to understand Malaysian Politics is to go through the whole thing because of how balantly corrupted it is! Let it start from the Judicial System all the way to the Electorial Sytem!

*blatantly

Sorry but I never said the majority of rural malays are against UMNO. They are disgusted with UMNO for what they're doing to Anwar but that doesn't mean they are going to vote for the opposition. As for money politics...this is South-East Asia. Governments give people "incentives" every election, including Singapore. You are right in saying it is blatant, but this 'standard conduct' is not a Malaysian thing or a rural thing; it's the way politics is in this region.
