Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time #12- In many ways, I’ shocked at how much I’m enjoying this series. If I looked at it objectively, there’s no reason for my love. Writer Chuck Dixon has been faithfully adapting the novels by Robert Jordan but he isn’t doing anything truly special; artist Chase Conley is doing a competent job but he also isn’t doing anything special with the art. However the duo is doing wonderful work together on this series (they just gel) and this issue show why! What was a pretty forgettable scene in the book is brought to life with gusto by the creative team. The singing and dancing by the various characters made this a lively issue and there’s another tour de force by Moiraine showing again she would not let anything stop her from getting things done. Forgot the new 52 by DC, readers should pick up this shockingly overlooked series by Dynamite.
