Since its debut in 1997, ‘One Piece’ has been constantly ranked as one of the best manga in Japan. Now it's creator, Eiichiro Oda, is now in the record books for becoming the best-selling comic book series in history!
With 77 volumes and over 320,866,000 copies of the manga are in print, making Oda the record holder for “The most copies published for the same comic book series by a single author”. The previous Guinness World Record holder was Akira Toriyama’s legendary Dragon Ball manga series but One Piece is still ongoing, so this new record by Oda would take some beating.
So congrats Eiichiro Oda! For working on a single series for 18 straight years, you are a deserved holder of the record.
