About Time

After a week of talks, all the major opposition parties in Singapore have finally confirm one thing; they will contest all the seats in the coming General Elections. I only have one thing to say to this: “About bloody time!”

It’s amazing that after over 40 years, this is only the first time the ruling People’s Action Party (PAP) will have to contest all the seats in a General Elections (GE). In the grand scheme of things, it might not be worth that much as the PAP is expected to win the GE easily but for the first time, everyone in Singapore has an actual chance to cast his/her vote.

That is a step in the right direction. I just hope there is no screw-up on Nomination Day and for the first time, every Singaporean has a chance to vote.

Let's hope it will result in a 'freak result' whereby most voters choose the Oppositions.

Can the Hope materializes?
Do Singaporeans care?

Sorry but that's not going to happen. The PAP will win, it's a matter of how many seats the opposition can take. If they manage to get between 5-10, then it's a job well done.

Half a loaf is better than none.
Me will be very console if the Oppositions get 5-10 seats.
And off course, me will be elated if it is more than 20%. Me wishes the people will not let each others down.
There is nothing to lose to have more oppositions in the Parliament. Shall i say, we will be able to get more attention rather than be treated like slaves or non-existing.

20% means about 16-17 seats which will mean the oppositon need to win at least 3 GRCs. Not likely.

There's a reason why me used 'freak' result.

However, if the army and or the Law gets order to bring down the winners, that will be
fraud and not freak.

There's no need. That's not going to happen. Like I said eariler, the PAP will win, it's just a matter of how many seats the opposition can take.
