One of the job requirements for being a politician is an ability for double-speak. Basically this is an ability to say one thing to someone, not say the same thing to another, and then ignore how ridiculous and unfair the whole thing is.
The Western world must be filled with great politicians because when Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi ordered his troops to crush protesters in Libya, there were howls of protests from Western leaders, cries for a no-fly zone and even talks about sending arms to the protestors; but now when Bahrain ordered their troops (with back-up from other countries) to crush protesters, attack a hospital where doctors and injured protestors were at, we are met with near silence.
Okay I exaggerate; Washington said it “understood” why Bahrain's Sunni rulers had called in reinforcements. I guess that’s world politics for you.
