Dangerous Walkers

With new technology coming out all the time, I guess it’s only right that new laws are introduced to prevent misuse of the said technology. However, sometimes the authorities can be “over-zealous” in the introduction of new laws.

That’s what I feel when I read that in America, people can be fine for…sending text message while walking! It sounds crazy to me but evidentially police in Fort Lee, New Jersey had issued more than 117 tickets (at US$85 each) to "dangerous walkers".

"Dangerous walkers"? What’s next? "Dangerous sleepers"? "Dangerous talkers"? And at US$85 a ticket? In Singapore, the fines for cars is only usually around $70! No wonder everyone drive in America; walking is more dangerous (and expensive) than driving in America!
